Established in February 1998, the Fouad Chehab Foundation’s main objective is to “carry out intellectual and social activities to revive the values that President Chehab believed in and worked for.” The Foundation's first committee was headed by former minister Fouad Boutros, who was later replaced by General Ahmad el Hajj, then Dr. Chafik Muharram, and today, Dr Charles Rizk.
